The lofty pride of men shall be humbled,
      and the Lord alone will be exalted in that day.

In that day the Lord will take away the finery (bracelets, rings etc)
      Instead of perfume there will be rottenness (sackcloth, branding etc)

You will say in that day: “I will give thanks to you, O Lord,

“Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and will not be afraid;
      for the Lord God is my strength and my song,
      and he has become my salvation.”
And you will say in that day:
“Sing praises to the Lord, for he has done gloriously ...
      for great in your midst is the Holy One of Israel.”

In that day there will be five cities in the land of Egypt
      that speak the language of Canaan and swear allegiance to the Lord of hosts.
      One of these will be called the City of Destruction.
In that day there will be an altar to the Lord in the land of Egypt ...
When they cry to the Lord because of oppressors,
      he will send them a saviour and defender, and deliver them.
And the Lord will make himself known to the Egyptians ...
      they will return to the Lord,
      and he will listen to their pleas for mercy and heal them.
In that day Israel will be the third with Egypt and Assyria,
      a blessing in the midst of the earth.

In that day the Lord God of hosts called for weeping and mourning ...
      and behold, joy and gladness,
      “Let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we die!”
“Surely this iniquity will not be atoned for you until you die,”
      says the Lord God of hosts.

In that day this song will be sung in the land of Judah:
“We have a strong city; he sets up salvation as walls and bulwarks ...
Open the gates, that the righteous nation that keeps faith may enter in.
You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you,

My soul yearns for you in the night;
      my spirit within me earnestly seeks you.
For when your judgments are in the earth,
      the inhabitants of the world learn righteousness.

In that day, “A pleasant vineyard, sing of it!
      I, the Lord, am its keeper; every moment I water it.
In days to come Jacob shall take root,
      Israel shall blossom and put forth shoots
      and fill the whole world with fruit.  Is 272,6

In that day a great trumpet will be blown, and those who were lost
      in the land of Assyria and those who were driven out to the land of Egypt
      will come and worship the Lord on the holy mountain at Jerusalem.

In that day the Lord of hosts will be a crown of glory,
      and a diadem of beauty, to the remnant of his people.

In that day the deaf shall hear the words of a book,
      and out of their gloom and darkness the eyes of the blind shall see.
The meek shall obtain fresh joy in the Lord,
      and the poor among mankind shall exult in the Holy One of Israel.

How beautiful upon the mountains
      are the feet of him who brings good news ...
      who publishes salvation, who says to Zion, “Your God reigns.” ...
Break forth together into singing, you waste places of Jerusalem,
      for the Lord has comforted his people; he has redeemed Jerusalem.
The Lord has bared his holy arm before the eyes of all the nations,
      and all the ends of the earth shall see the salvation of our God ...
O afflicted one, storm-tossed and not comforted, behold,
      I will ... lay your foundations with sapphires.
      In righteousness you shall be established ...
      Behold ... no weapon that is fashioned against you shall succeed.

At that time Jerusalem shall be called the throne of the Lord,
      and all nations shall gather to it, to the presence of the Lord in Jerusalem,
      and they shall no more stubbornly follow their own evil heart.
In those days the house of Judah shall join the house of Israel,
      and together they shall come from the land of the north
      to the land that I gave your fathers for a heritage.

In those days and at that time, when I restore the fortunes of Judah and Jerusalem,
      I will gather all nations and bring them down to the Valley of Jehoshaphat.

In that day the mountains will drip new wine ...
A fountain will flow out of the Lord’s house ...
Judah will be inhabited forever ...
The Lord dwells in Zion!

In that day I will restore David’s fallen tent.

I will bring back my exiled people Israel;
      they will rebuild the ruined cities and live in them.
I will plant Israel in their own land, never again to be uprooted
from the land I have given them,” says the Lord your God.

“Shout and be glad, O Daughter of Zion. For I am coming, and I will live among you,”
      declares the Lord. “Many nations will be joined with the Lord
      in that day and will become my people.
      I will live among you and you will know that the Lord Almighty has sent me to you.
      The Lord will inherit Judah as his portion in the holy land and will again choose Jerusalem.”
