93 Promises of Jesus in the Gospels       [Go Top]

Quote Promise
Math 419 "Come, follow me," Jesus said, "and I will make you fishers of men."
Math 53-10
Lu 620-26
Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.
Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.
Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy.
Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God.
Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Math 517,18 Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished.
Math 628-30,33 See how the lilies of the field grow. They do not labour or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendour was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? ... But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.
Math 77,8
Lu 119,10
Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find;
knock and the door will be opened to you.
For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds;
and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.
Math 92 Lu 520 When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralytic, "Take heart, son; your sins are forgiven."
Math 1039 Whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.
Math 1042 And if anyone gives even a cup of cold water to one of these little ones because he is my disciple, I tell you the truth, he will certainly not lose his reward.
Math 1128-30 And if anyone gives even a cup of cold water to one of these little ones because he is my disciple, I tell you the truth, he will certainly not lose his reward.
Math 1236,37 But I tell you that men will have to give account on the day of judgment for every careless word they have spoken. For by your words you will be acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned.
Math 1311,12 The knowledge of the secrets of the kingdom of heaven has been given to you, but not to them. Whoever has will be given more, and he will have an abundance. Whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken from him.
Math 1722
Math 2018,19
Math 262
The Son of Man is going to be betrayed into the hands of men. They will kill him, and on the third day he will be raised to life.
Math 1820 For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them.
Math 1929 Everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or children or fields for my sake will receive a hundred times as much and will inherit eternal life.
Math 2312-36
Lu 1142-52
Whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be exalted.
Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites!
Math 2410-14 At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other, and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people. Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, but he who stands firm to the end will be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.
Math 2423,24
Lu 218
At that time if anyone says to you, 'Look, here is the Christ!' or, 'There he is!' do not believe it. For false Christs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and miracles to deceive even the elect–if that were possible.
Math 2427 For as lightning that comes from the east is visible even in the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man.
Math 2430,31
Lu 2127
At that time the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and all the nations of the earth will mourn. They will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky, with power and great glory. And he will send his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other.
Math 2613 I tell you the truth, wherever this gospel is preached throughout the world, what she has done will also be told, in memory of her.
Math 2664 In the future you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Mighty One and coming on the clouds of heaven.
Math 2820 And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.
Lu 113-17 But the angel said to him: "Do not be afraid, Zechariah; your prayer has been heard. Your wife Elizabeth will bear you a son, and you are to give him the name John. He will be a joy and delight to you, and many will rejoice because of his birth, for he will be great in the sight of the Lord. He is never to take wine or other fermented drink, and he will be filled with the Holy Spirit even from birth. Many of the people of Israel will he bring back to the Lord their God. And he will go on before the Lord, in the spirit and power of Elijah, to turn the hearts of the fathers to their children and the disobedient to the wisdom of the righteous–to make ready a people prepared for the Lord."
Lu 130-33 But the angel said to her, "Do not be afraid, Mary, you have found favor with God. You will be with child and give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus. He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David, and he will reign over the house of Jacob forever; his kingdom will never end."
Lu 167-79 Zechariah was filled with the Holy Spirit and prophesied:
"Praise be to the Lord, the God of Israel,
because he has come and has redeemed his people. ...
      And you, my child, will be called a prophet of the Most High;
for you will go on before the Lord to prepare the way for him,
to give his people the knowledge of salvation
through the forgiveness of their sins, because of the tender mercy of our God,
by which the rising sun will come to us from heaven to shine on those living in darkness
and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the path of peace."
Lu 228-32 Simeon took him in his arms and praised God, saying:
"Sovereign Lord, as you have promised, you now dismiss your servant in peace.
For my eyes have seen your salvation, which you have prepared in the sight of all people,
a light for revelation to the Gentiles and for glory to your people Israel."
Lu 234,35 Then Simeon blessed them and said to Mary, his mother: "This child is destined to cause the falling and rising of many in Israel, and to be a sign that will be spoken against, so that the thoughts of many hearts will be revealed. And a sword will pierce your own soul too."
Lu 34-6 "A voice of one calling in the desert,
'Prepare the way for the Lord, make straight paths for him.
Every valley shall be filled in, every mountain and hill made low.
The crooked roads shall become straight, the rough ways smooth.
And all mankind will see God's salvation.' "
Lu 510 Then Jesus said to Simon, "Don't be afraid; from now on you will catch men."
Lu 748,50 Then Jesus said to her, "Your sins are forgiven." ...
"Your faith has saved you; go in peace."
Lu 810 The knowledge of the secrets of the kingdom of God has been given to you,
but to others I speak in parables
Lu 818 1926 Therefore consider carefully how you listen. Whoever has will be given more;
whoever does not have, even what he thinks he has will be taken from him.
Lu 922 The Son of Man must suffer many things and be rejected by the elders, chief priests and teachers of the law, and he must be killed and on the third day be raised to life.
Lu 1113 If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!
Lu 1128 Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it.
Lu 1231,34 But seek his kingdom, and these things will be given to you as well.
For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
Lu 1240 You also must be ready,
because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him.
Lu 1249,51 I have come to bring fire on the earth, ...
Do you think I came to bring peace on earth? No, I tell you, but division.
Lu 133 + 134 Unless you repent, you too will all perish.
Lu 1334,35 O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you who kill the prophets and stone those sent to you, how often I have longed to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, but you were not willing! Look, your house is left to you desolate. I tell you, you will not see me again until you say, 'Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.'
Lu 1427 Anyone who does not carry his cross and follow me cannot be my disciple.
Lu 157 + 1510 I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent.
Lu 1729,30,33 But the day Lot left Sodom, fire and sulfur rained down from heaven and destroyed them all. It will be just like this on the day the Son of Man is revealed. ...
Remember Lot's wife!
Lu 1814 1411 Everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.
Lu 1824,27 How hard it is for the rich to enter the kingdom of God!
What is impossible with men is possible with God.
Lu 2343 I tell you the truth, today you will be with me in paradise.
Lu 2446,47 This is what is written: The Christ will suffer and rise from the dead on the third day, and repentance and forgiveness of sins will be preached in his name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.
Jn 129 Behold! the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!

Jn 219 Destroy this temple, and I will raise it again in three days.
Jn 33 I tell you the truth, no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again.

that everyone who believes in him may have eternal life.

that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

Jn 336 Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life,
but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God's wrath remains on him.
Jn 413,14 Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks the water I give him will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life.
Jn 524,25 I tell you the truth, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be condemned; he has crossed over from death to life. I tell you the truth, a time is coming and has now come when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God and those who hear will live.
Jn 635 I am the bread of life. He who comes to me will never go hungry,
and he who believes in me will never be thirsty.
Jn 640 For my Father's will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day.
Jn 717 If anyone chooses to do God's will, he will find out whether my teaching comes from God
or whether I speak on my own.

Jn 812 I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.

I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and ... I lay down my life for the sheep.
Jn 1027,28 My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life,
and they shall never perish; no one can snatch them out of my hand.
Jn 1125,26 I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies;
and whoever lives and believes in me will never die.
Jn 1224 I tell you the truth, unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds.
Jn 1232 But I, when I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all men to myself.
Jn 1246 I have come into the world as a light,
so that no one who believes in me should stay in darkness.

Act 111 This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven.”
Act 915 But the Lord said to Ananias, "Go! This man is my chosen instrument to carry my name before the Gentiles and their kings and before the people of Israel.

Ro 81,2 Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit of life set me free from the law of sin and death.
Ro 828 In all things God works for the good of those who love him.
Ro 835-39 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? ... No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Ro 933 As it is written: "See, I lay in Zion a stone that causes men to stumble and a rock that makes them fall, and the one who trusts in him will never be put to shame."
Ro 1125-29 I do not want you to be ignorant of this mystery, brothers, so that you may not be conceited: Israel has experienced a hardening in part until the full number of the Gentiles has come in. And so all Israel will be saved, as it is written: "The deliverer will come from Zion; he will turn godlessness away from Jacob. And this is my covenant with them when I take away their sins." As far as the gospel is concerned, they are enemies on your account; but as far as election is concerned, they are loved on account of the patriarchs, for God's gifts and his call are irrevocable.
1 Co 118,19 For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. For it is written: "I will destroy the wisdom of the wise; the intelligence of the intelligent I will frustrate."
1 Co 1013 No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it.
2 Co 316 But whenever anyone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away.
2 Co 517 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!
2 Co 129 My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.

Heb 725 Therefore he is able to save completely those who come to God through him,
because he always lives to intercede for them.
Heb 915 For this reason Christ is the mediator of a new covenant, that those who are called may receive the promised eternal inheritance–now that he has died as a ransom to set them free from the sins committed under the first covenant.
Heb 928 Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many people; and he will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him.
Heb 109,10 Then he said, "Here I am, I have come to do your will." He sets aside the first to establish the second. And by that will, we have been made holy through the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.
Heb 1015-17 The Holy Spirit also testifies to us about this. First he says: "This is the covenant I will make with them after that time, says the Lord. I will put my laws in their hearts, and I will write them on their minds." Then he adds: "Their sins and lawless acts I will remember no more."
Heb 1023 He who promised is faithful.
Heb 1113,16 All these people were still living by faith when they died. They did not receive the things promised; they only saw them and welcomed them from a distance. ...
Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, for he has prepared a city for them.
Heb 1228 We are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken.
Heb 135,6 God has said, "Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you." So we say with confidence,
"The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?"
Jms 112 Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him.
1 Pe 13-5 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade–kept in heaven for you, who through faith are shielded by God's power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time.
1 Pe 124,25 The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of the Lord stands forever.
1 Pe 26 For in Scripture it says: "See, I lay a stone in Zion, a chosen and precious cornerstone,
and the one who trusts in him will never be put to shame."
2 Pe 13,4 His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature and escape the corruption in the world caused by evil desires.
2 Pe 119 We have the word of the prophets made more certain, and you will do well to pay attention to it, as to a light shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts.
2 Pe 39 The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.
Rev 13 Blessed is the one who reads the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear it and take to heart what is written in it, because the time is near.
Rev 18 "I am the Alpha and the Omega," says the Lord God, "who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty."
Rev 117-19 Do not be afraid. I am the First and the Last. I am the Living One; I was dead, and behold I am alive for ever and ever! And I hold the keys of death and Hades. "Write, therefore, what you have seen, what is now and what will take place later.
Rev 2,3 To him who overcomes:
I will give the right to eat from the tree of life, which is in the paradise of God. (Ephesus)
Will not be hurt at all by the second death. (Smyrna)
I will give some of the hidden manna. I will also give him a white stone with a new name written on it, known only to him who receives it. (Pergamum)
I will give authority over the nations. (Thyatira)
will, like them, be dressed in white. I will never blot out his name from the book of life, but will acknowledge his name before my Father and his angels. (Sardis)
I will make a pillar in the temple of my God. Never again will he leave it. I will write on him the name of my God ... and I will also write on him my new name. (Philadelphia)
I will give the right to sit with me on my throne. (Laodicea)
Rev 320 Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with me.
Rev 55 Then one of the elders said to me, "Do not weep! See, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has triumphed. He is able to open the scroll and its seven seals."
Rev 59,10 You are worthy to take the scroll and to open its seals, because you were slain, and with your blood you purchased men for God from every tribe and language and people and nation. You have made them to be a kingdom and priests to serve our God.
Rev 512 Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength
and honour and glory and praise!
Rev 61 I watched as the Lamb opened the first of the seven seals. ....
Rev 713-17 Then one of the elders asked me, "These in white robes–who are they, and where did they come from?" I answered, "Sir, you know." And he said, "These are they who have come out of the great tribulation; they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. Therefore, "they are before the throne of God and serve him day and night in his temple; and he who sits on the throne will spread his tent over them. ... And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes."
Rev 1115 The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of his Christ,
and he will reign for ever and ever.
Rev 1210,11 Now have come the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God, and the authority of his Christ. For the accuser of our brothers, who accuses them before our God day and night, has been hurled down. They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony.
Rev 134,10 "Who is like the beast? Who can make war against him?" ...
This calls for patient endurance and faithfulness on the part of the saints.
Rev 152,3 And I saw what looked like a sea of glass mixed with fire and, standing beside the sea, those who had been victorious over the beast and his image and over the number of his name. They held harps given them by God and sang the song of Moses the servant of God and the song of the Lamb: "Great and marvellous are your deeds, Lord God Almighty.
Just and true are your ways, King of the ages. ..."
Rev 182, 20 With a mighty voice he shouted: "Fallen! Fallen is Babylon the Great! ..."
Rejoice over her, O heaven! Rejoice, saints and apostles and prophets!
God has judged her for the way she treated you.
Rev 196-8 Then I heard what sounded like a great multitude, ... shouting: "Hallelujah!
For our Lord God Almighty reigns. Let us rejoice and be glad and give him glory!
For the wedding of the Lamb has come, and his bride has made herself ready.
Fine linen, bright and clean, was given her to wear."
Rev 199 Then the angel said to me, "Write: 'Blessed are those who are invited to the wedding supper of the Lamb!' " And he added, "These are the true words of God."

Jewish and Christian history and experience prove that God always keeps all his promises (both good and bad!)
