Otherwise they might see with their eyes, hear with their ears, understand with their hearts, and turn and be healed." |
Jn 1237-41 Even after Jesus had done all these miraculous signs in their presence, they still would not believe him. This was to fulfil the word of Isaiah the prophet: "Lord, who has believed our message and to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?" For this reason they could not believe, because, as Isaiah says elsewhere: "He has blinded their eyes and deadened their hearts, so they can neither see with their eyes, nor understand with their hearts, nor turn, and I would heal them." Isaiah said this because he saw Jesus' glory and spoke about him. |

the Prophets and the Psalms." Then he opened their minds so they could understand
the Scriptures. He told them, "This is what is written: The Christ will suffer
and rise from the dead on the third day." |
Jn 145 | Philip found Nathanael and told him, "We have found the one Moses wrote
about in the Law, and about whom the prophets also wrote--Jesus of Nazareth,
the son of Joseph." |
Jn 222 | After he was raised from the dead, his disciples recalled what he had
said. Then they believed the Scripture and the words that Jesus had spoken. |
Jn 539,40 | You diligently study the Scriptures because you think that by them you
possess eternal life. These are the Scriptures that testify about me, yet
you refuse to come to me to have life. |
Jn 546 | If you believed Moses, you would believe me, for he wrote about me. |
Jn 614 | After the people saw the miraculous sign that Jesus did, they began to
say, "Surely this is the Prophet who is to come into the world." |
Jn 740 | On hearing his words, some of the people said, "Surely this man is the
Prophet." |
Jn 1712 | While I was with them, I protected them and kept them safe by that name
you gave me. None has been lost except the one doomed to destruction so that
Scripture would be fulfilled. |
